"Rising To The Challenge"
When
Air New Zealand Engineering was launching its SAP enterprise system,
named "Project Aspire", they needed to communicate large business changes
to staff. Working with Leading Light Communication, we designed a front
end and way of story telling to introduce staff around the world to "Project
Aspire".
As Air New Zealand was the first airline in the world to implement
a SAP system for an engineering department worldwide, there were many
challenges. Indeed we decided to name our program "Rising to the Challenge".
Air New Zealand wanted to train staff in many facets of the system.
We decided to firstly honour the past and look where the airline had
come from over its 45 year history. Then we designed a virtual toolbox
as the front end of the new system on where it was going to.
Our program features no audio, as Air New Zealand does not have audio
on it's intranet, so we used speech bubbles instead of talking.
The
cut down version of our program makes use flash animation to tell the
story of Air NZ Engineering. Flash was chosen as the optimal way to
tell the story of where the airline had come from and introduce the
virtual toolbox, the interface to the training programs about the new
SAP system on PowerPoint.
